SHELLFISH FROM PERU

Maza is cautious, patient and bides his time. The foam surrounds him, embraces him, bathes him. Two waves of the series are missing to continue their mission: capture the shellfish that is attached to the rocks, cracks and fissures. Remain motionless and upright. Hanging from a rope and fighting with the waves, he risks his life every day dodging the blows of a harsh and uncompromising Pacific Ocean. His movements are agile, fast and very precise. Like the veteran alpinist or a hardened climber, Maza knows the technique, the use of the rope and shows absolute respect for a fierce sea. He perfectly combines his physical skills with the experience of 20 years in the profession. This is their way of life, wild and demanding just like the environment in which they live: it is the life of shellfish gatherers in Peru.
