THE PYRENEES TREATY

We are transported back to the year 1659, when the Treaty of the Pyrenees was signed between the crowns of Spain and France at the banks of the Bidasoa River (Gipuzkoa). From that point on in the 17th Century, the borders between what we know today were delineated. It’s a historic, social and cultural journey along the division line, full of disputes, traditions, anecdotes and rivalries between neighbors. The route is on the line of the Pyrenees mountains: Perpignan, French Sardinia, Hendaye (border of Viella), Perthus, Andorra, Navarre Pyrenees, Catalan Pyrenees.
